DAY 23—When wicked men rule in opposition to Christ, we are called to test the spirits that will flock to us.

 

With a determination born of the Holy Spirit, we refuse the tactics of the anti-Christ as he tries to put out the Light that John gives us in the following verses, along with what we learn from Christ Jesus as a man. He had to come to an acknowledgment of Him as Christ crucified, risen and ascended to His Father’s right hand. Paul never knew Jesus as John knew Him. He knew Him as the Christ Who had ascended to be with His Father and Who had sent His Spirit to live in us.

I John 4:4-6—Ye are of God, little children, and have (already) overcome them (because of who you are in Christ): because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of (ék) the world (they receive their life and strength out of the world system): therefore speak they of (ék) the world, and the world heareth them (because they speak in terms that the world understands). We are of (ék) God: he that knoweth God heareth us (whoever knows God can hear and understand what we are saying); he that is not of (ék) God heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of Truth, and the spirit of error.

FATHER, today I give myself to communion with Your Christ. I am beginning to see what You have given us in Him. You have graced us to live in communion with Him.  Please teach me, and these I hold before You what this means. Please cause Your Spirit to bring into us an understanding of the revelation You gave to Paul about Who and where Christ is in us. Open the eyes of our hearts to know who and where we are in Him.
